Recognition where people walk past
Some of the people doing the quiet, essential work rarely open the chat. An office screen puts recognition where they’ll see it: in the kitchen, the lobby or the warehouse floor.
The screen rotates through:
- The feed: the latest public recognitions, with their reasons and values.
- Company values: which values came up this month.
- Celebrations: today’s birthdays and work anniversaries, for people who opted in.
- Spread: how many people were recognized this month, and first-ever shout-outs.
A leaderboard is there if you want one, but it’s off by default. A wall showing the same few names every day is the opposite of what Pointd Pal is for.
What never shows
- Private recognitions, and anything an admin redacted.
- People who opted out, and anyone who turned off “Show me on screens”. They still count in the totals, without their name.
- Anything from channels the screen isn’t set to show.
Setting one up
An admin connects a screen from the admin panel. A TV with a browser shows a short code to enter in the panel, so nothing secret is typed on the remote. A signage player gets a link instead. Each screen can be renamed, rotated or disconnected at any time, and one left unused for 90 days disconnects itself.
Office screens are part of the Pro plan.
